Konstantina Mpada

Konstantina Bada was born in Agrinio. She studied philology at the University of Ioannina. In 1983, she received her Ph.D. with the dissertation titled "The Athenian Costume during the Period 1687-1834" (University of Ioannina, 1983). She is a professor of social folklore in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Ioannina. Since 1984, she has been a member of the teaching and research staff in the Department of History and Archaeology at the same university (in the Folklore Section). During her postdoctoral research, she expanded her academic interests into the broader field of anthropology at the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge (1986-87) and into the subjects of oral history and women's studies at the Department of Sociology at the University of Essex (1997-98). Her teaching and research work focuses on exploring the historicity of folk culture and everyday life, studying cultural identities, oral history, and the study, preservation, and rational management of cultural resources. She has published articles in Greek and international journals, book reviews, participated in conferences and scientific workshops, organized workshops and exhibitions, and conducted research projects. Her notable publications include: "Paul Sant Cassia and C. Bada," "The Making of Modern Greek Family. Marriage and Exchange in Nineteenth Century" (Cambridge Univ.
