Aikaterini S. Markou

Aikaterini S. Markou is a lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Crete. She defended her doctoral thesis on "La question identitaire et l'education chez les Pomaques de Thrace grecque" (in the field of social and historical anthropology, EHESS, Paris, 2001). Her academic interests focus on minorities in the Balkans, issues of nationalism and identity politics, the methodology of ethnographic research, and Islam in the Balkans.
