William Schultz

William Schultz is a professor of the philosophy of culture of English-speaking peoples in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Athens. After completing his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University in the USA, he pursued graduate studies at Pennsylvania State University (M.A. in Philosophy, Ph.D. in Philosophy, M.A. in English Literature). As a member of the Literature and Culture sector, he has been teaching in the Department of English Language and Literature since 1990. His academic interests include contemporary theories of culture and literature. His publications include the books: "Jacques Derrida: An Annotated Primary and Secondary Bibliography" (New York: Garland Publishing, 1992), "Genetic Codes of Culture? The Deconstruction of Tradition by Kuhn, Bloom, and Derrida" (New York: Garland Publishing, 1994), and "Cassirer and Langer on Myth: An Introduction" (New York: Garland Publishing, 2000). He has presented his work at numerous conferences in Britain and has published articles on literary theory, poetry, and science fiction literature. His interest in writing began with a Master's degree in non-fiction writing and editing, following a Master's and a Ph.D. in the philosophy of culture. He taught various writing genres at Pennsylvania State University before moving to Greece, where he also wrote books on language and taught writing.
