Simos Vafeiadis

Simos Vafeiadis was born in Besiktas (Diplokionio) on January 1, 1915. He lived in Kuskuncuk from 1928 to 1964 and served as a member of the Parish Committee of Saint Panteleimon in Kuskuncuk for many years. In 1949, he married Christina Papaspyrou, with whom he had two children, Apostolos (born in 1950) and Anna (born in 1952). In 1964, he moved to Cihangir, and in 1971, he emigrated with his family to Sydney, Australia. His ancestry traces back to Prokopi in Asia Minor. Although his identity card listed him as Boyatzoglou, he was registered as Vafeiadis at the Urban School of Besiktas. When they were naturalized in Australia, they applied under the name Vafeiadis family.
