Panagiotis Kousathanas

Panagiotis Kousathanas is a philologist, poet, and prose writer. He was born in 1945 on the island of Mykonos, where he currently resides. He studied English and Greek philology at the University of Athens and worked for two decades as a high school teacher. He has published nineteen books, including poetry, short stories, and texts on the culture and history of his homeland, and has translated English-language poetry. His first book, "Syrrafi Oneiron" (Poems, 1980), was awarded the Maria Per. Ralli Prize, and "Paramilita A and B, Texts on the Culture and History of Mykonos" (Indiktos 2002) received the State Literary Prize for Chronicle-Testimony. Additionally, "Crooked Stories Ending with a Question Mark" (Indiktos 2009) was honored with the State Literary Short Story Award. Other works include: Ludovico Roussel's "Tales of Mykonos" (Indiktos and Municipality of Mykonos 2007), and "Myzithra, Zymithra: A True Fairy Tale" (K.D.E.P.A. Mykonos and Stefanidis Publications 2010).
