Vasiliki Galani - Moutafi

Vasiliki Galani-Moutafi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Anthropology and History at the University of the Aegean. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in Social-Cultural Anthropology at the City University of New York, and received her Ph.D. from the Graduate School of the same university. Her research interests focus on the economic and social impacts of tourism on local host communities, tourism discourse and representations, the management of cultural heritage within the context of tourism needs, and the related issue of the formation of local cultural identity. She has published articles on these topics in both Greek and international academic journals.
