Chrysostom Selahvarzi

Chrysostomos (Hussein) Selachbarzi was born in Iran in 1966. Along with a group of active young people, he opposed Khomeini's authoritarian regime, which led to his imprisonment. At the age of 21, he escaped to Pakistan and, with the help of the UN, ended up in Norway. He studied Political Science at the University of Oslo. His inner quest led him to Orthodoxy, and he was baptized as an Orthodox Christian in Greece in 1998. Now, as a Norwegian citizen, he lives and works in Norway, focusing on refugee affairs.
