
Robert H. Bishop
Robert H. Bishop is the chair of the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds the distinguished title of "Joe J. King Professor in Engineering" and was honored in 2002 as a distinguished educator by the UT Academy of Distinguished Teachers. As a talented educator, R. Bishop received the Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems Award for his exceptional teaching. He was also awarded the John Leland Atwood Award by the American Society of Engineering Educators and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, an award periodically given to "pioneers with significant and lasting contributions to aerospace engineering education." Professor Bishop is a Fellow of the AIAA and an active member of IEEE and ASEE. He is a distinguished researcher in the field of guidance, navigation, and control of aerospace vehicles.
