Richard C. Dorf

Richard C. Dort is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Davis. As an educator, he is renowned for his keen interest in the field of Electrical Engineering and its applications in the modern social and economic environment. He has published several successful books and handbooks for engineers. Among these are the well-selling "Engineering Handbook" and the third edition of the "Electrical Engineering Handbook." Professor Dort also co-authored the book "Technology Ventures," a pioneering work on entrepreneurship. He is a regular member of IEEE and ASEE. His research activities focus on the fields of "control system design" and "robotics." He holds the patent for the PIDA controller.
