Manolis Rasoulis

Manolis Rasoulis was born in Heraklion, Crete, on September 28, 1945. He studied film directing at Stavrakos School, wrote poems and scripts, and sang amateurishly in the Plaka music venues. He worked for the leftist newspaper "Democratic Change," participated in the 114 struggles, and joined all the peace marches. In London, he wrote his first books and became a co-publisher of the newspaper "Socialist Change," where he contributed articles and columns and took courses in political economy and philosophy. In May 1968, he participated in the major student uprising in Paris and was injured by the SRS. In 1974, shortly after the Polytechnic uprising, he moved to Athens, where he continued his political activism and diverse artistic activities. He wrote and published the magazine "Avgo," and authored songs, novellas, and short stories. He passed away in March 2011 at the age of 66.
