Giorgos Pagoulatos

George Pagoulatos was born in Athens in 1967. He studied at the Athens Law School and received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He continued with postdoctoral research at Princeton University in the USA, focusing on comparative economic policy. He is a Professor of European Politics and Economy at the Athens University of Economics and Business and a visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. He served as the Director of Strategic Planning and advisor to Prime Ministers Lucas Papademos and Panagiotis Pikrammenos. He has published numerous studies, books, and articles. He is a member of the European Reflection Group on the New Pact for Europe. Since 2007, he has been a regular columnist for the newspaper Kathimerini.
