
Faidon THeofilou
Phaedon Theophilou was born in Mytilene in 1947. He studied social sciences and works in the field of civil aviation as an executive for a European airline. He writes both prose and poetry. His works have been translated into foreign languages, and excerpts from his work are featured in many Greek and international anthologies. He is a founding member of the Hellenic-Austrian Cultural and Educational Institute and the Thucydides Center for Sciences. He contributes articles to both regional and Athenian press, is a permanent literary collaborator for the magazine "Research," and in recent years, he has been an editor for http://theofilou.blogspot.com. "The Inmate" is his first novel. Other works include: "The Sun's Ring" (short stories - Prose Award for the best book of the year, 1983, by the Society of Greek Writers), "The Little Greek" (three speeches), "Persistent Theorem" (25 poems and an epigram), "Nostanthi" (short stories - M. Lountemis Award by the Society of Greek Writers), "Nocturnal Symphony" (poetic composition - L. Iakovidis Award), "God in the Café" (short stories), "The Liturgy of Mythimna" (poetic composition set to music as a folk oratorio by composer Spyros Kazianis), "Readings of Seven Voices" (short stories - collaboration with other authors).
