Robert Michels

Born in 1876 in Germany (Rhineland), he passed away in 1936 in Italy, where he spent most of his life. He taught in Paris, Turin, Basel (Switzerland), and Perugia. He authored numerous studies and articles in German and Italian. Among his best-known books are: *Storia del marxismo in Italia* (1910), *Probleme der Sozialphilosophie* (1914), *Sozialismus und Fascismus als politische Stromungen in Italien* (I-II, 1925), *Corso di sociologia politica* (1927), *Der Patriotismus* (1929).
