Evita Arapoglou

The art historian Evita Arapoglou studied at University College and King's College, University of London, specializing in the history of European and particularly Greek art of the 19th and 20th centuries. Between 1983 and 1991 in London, she curated exhibitions of European prints and modern Greek painting, while also giving lectures in England, Greece, and Cyprus. In 1989, she authored the book "A. G. Leventis Foundation Collection: Paintings by Greek Artists of the 19th and 20th Century." Since 1994, she has been the curator of the A. G. Leventis Foundation Collection. Many of her articles and studies have been published, including "Arts and Artists in Corfu" and "Greek Artists at Mont Parnes: Tradition and Modernity in the Aesthetic Contradictions of 1961." Since 1982, she worked closely with Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas, organizing exhibitions of his works at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, the Ghika Gallery of the Benaki Museum, and the MIET in Thessaloniki. In 1992, she wrote and edited the book "Ghikas. Sketches." Since 1994, she has been a member of the Advisory Committee of the Benaki Museum for the Ghika Gallery. Her numerous publications on the great Greek artist, as well as her participation in events dedicated to his work, are noteworthy.
