
Anna Kontoleon
Anna Kontoleon was born in 1974 in Athens. She studied Theatre Studies at the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Athens and acting at the Contemporary Theatre School of Athens under Giorgos Kimoulis. She has attended seminars by Andreas Manolikakis and classes at Akis Davi's acting workshop. She works in primary and secondary education as a drama teacher. Additionally, she designs and facilitates educational programs promoting reading and conducts teacher training sessions. Since 1993, she has been involved in writing and translating literary books. She writes fairy tales and novels for children and teenagers and translates books from English, French, and German. In 2012, she was awarded the "Fanis Apostolou" Prize by the Circle of the Greek Children's Book for her book "The Seven Lives of Kompos," and in 2015, she received the Children's Book Translation Award from the Hellenic Society of Literary Translators. Since 2014, she has been living in Chania, where, together with her husband and son, she created a play and creative activity space for the whole family, "Mikro Trianon."
