
Georgios CH. Koumakis
Georgios Ch. Koumakis served as an Associate Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy, Psychology, and Pedagogy at the University of Ioannina. He graduated from the Department of Philology and Philosophy at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. As a scholar of the German State (DAAD), he received his M.A. and Ph.D. "with great praise" (magna cum laude) from the University of Bonn. He has taught philosophy in the Departments of Philosophy and Social Studies and Early Childhood Education at the University of Crete and at the People's University of Athens. He has been accepted by Queens College, City University of New York, as a distinguished scholar. He has been awarded the Nikos Kazantzakis Prize by the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete. He has authored 13 philosophical books and numerous studies in Greek and international journals. His research and teaching fields include ancient, modern Greek, and European philosophy, philosophy of technology and education, ethics, and political and social philosophy. He has delivered lectures at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens and participated in national, international, and global Philosophy conferences.
