Robert T. Kiyosaki

Robert Kiyosaki is a self-made multimillionaire, investor, entrepreneur, advocate for financial education, and author of numerous bestsellers. He was born and raised in Hawaii and is a fourth-generation Japanese American. After graduating from a college in New York, he joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. After the war, he worked in the sales department of Xerox Corporation. In 1977, he founded a company that brought the first nylon wallet with Velcro closure to market. In 1985, he established an international education company that delivered business and investment courses to tens of thousands of students worldwide. In 1994, he sold his business and retired at the age of forty-seven. During his brief retirement, Robert Kiyosaki, in collaboration with Sharon Lechter, his accountant and business partner, wrote the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad". More books followed, all of which achieved high rankings on bestseller lists. Before becoming a bestselling author, Robert Kiyosaki invented an educational board game, Cashflow 101, to teach people the financial strategies that his rich dad spent many years teaching him. These strategies enabled Kiyosaki to retire at the age of forty-seven. In 2001, he released the first book in the "Rich Dad's Advisors" series. This group consists of professionals who support Kiyosaki’s belief that "business and investing are team sports."
