Paylos D. Pezaros

Pavlos D. Pezaros was officially born in Athens, but he is a true native of Piraeus, where he lived until 1978. A graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business, he pursued postgraduate studies at Lancaster University (UK) and the Institute of Regional Development at Panteion University of Athens. He worked as an economist at the Ministry of Rural Development & Food for over 33 years, advancing through all administrative ranks. He retired as an Honorary Director of Agricultural Policy. He taught European Institutions & "Sectoral Policies" as an Adjunct Professor at the European Institute of Public Administration (1997-2001), Maastricht (NL), as a core faculty member of the National School of Public Administration (2004-2013), and occasionally collaborated with the Cyprus Academy of Public Administration (1998-2012). He served as: Chairman of the Board of the National Centre for Public Administration & Local Government (2012-2014), Vice President (2009-2012) and National Representative (since 1989) of the Centre International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Mediterraneennes (Paris), Vice President of the "Agricultural Policies" Group of the OECD (2002-04), and Member of the Council of the Agricultural University of Athens (2013-2015). He has authored numerous books and articles in his scientific and teaching fields, published in print, collective, and individual editions in Greek and English. He has been involved in poetry and literature since his adolescence, occasionally publishing poems, articles, critical reviews, and translations in literary magazines and publications. His poems, translated by friends, have been published in magazines and publications abroad (England, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Bulgaria, Turkey). He was a founding member of the editorial team of the magazine DIAVAZO and a member of its editorial committee (1976-1983). Alongside his scientific and educational activities, he has published four poetry collections and a debut work ("Beginning," Stoa Editions, Piraeus, 1971), as well as a Spanish translation of the first collection in Argentina.
