Alexandros CH. Tomaras

Alexandros Christou Tomaras was born in Athens in 1945. He studied Mathematics at the University of Athens (Bachelor's Degree: 1968) and earned his Doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Patras (PhD: 1972). He pursued postdoctoral studies in Mathematical Analysis and Computing, focusing particularly on their applications to industrial problems, at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford (UK), where he also conducted research as a Senior Academic Visitor (1974-1978). He was appointed as a professor and computer systems analyst (field 22) at the Higher School of Technological Engineers at the Center for Higher Technical and Vocational Education in Athens (1978-1983). Concurrently, as a Special Scientist at the General Secretariat of Information and Communication, he conducted studies on Organization, Education, and Methods (1978-1982). From 1983 to 2001, he served as a professor in the Department of Informatics at the Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Athens. Since 2001, following the elevation of the T.E.I. to a higher educational status, he has held the position of Regular Professor at the same department. His written work includes original research papers, monographs, books, studies, articles, and presentations.
