Ioanna Mpitha

Researcher and Director of the Center for Research of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Art at the Academy of Athens. She works on the international research program of the Academy of Athens, which operates under the auspices of the Union Académique Internationale, titled "Index of Byzantine Wall Paintings in Greece." Additionally, she is responsible for the program "Bibliography of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Archaeology and Art: The Greek Contribution." Another area of her research focuses on the study of Byzantine clothing as depicted in donor portraits in frescoes and icons.
