
Konstantinos Malafantis
Konstantinos D. Malafantis was born in Kalamata. He is a Professor of Pedagogy and Literature at the Department of Primary Education of the School of Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He serves as the President of the Pedagogical Society of Greece, Vice President of the Hellenic Institute of Applied Pedagogy and Education, and Director of the Laboratory of Pedagogical Applications and Educational Material Production. He is also the scientific director of the Master's Program "Psychopedagogy of Reading, Reading Promotion, and Educational Material" at the same school. Additionally, he is a Board Member of the European Educational Research Association (EERA), Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Pedagogical Review of the Pedagogical Society of Greece, and Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal MusEd, Museum-School-Education, published by the "Museum of School Life and Education." He is a member of the Scientific Publishing Committee of the journal Society, published by the Panhellenic Union of Theologians, and a Special Publishing Advisor for the journal New Education, published by the Scientific Association "New Education."
His theoretical and research interests include the pedagogical dimension of literature, the relationship between children and reading, the cultivation and development of reading promotion, fairy tales and their teaching, museum education, the history of Modern Greek Education, and the Modern Greek Enlightenment. He has authored thirteen books and edited numerous others. His studies and research have been published in Greek and international pedagogical and literary journals.
