Anastasios Kontakos

Anastasios Kontakos graduated from the Pedagogical Academy of Tripoli in 1981 and pursued postgraduate studies in Germany. In 1987, he earned the title "Magister der Padagogik und der Philosophie" from the Institute of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Stuttgart. He obtained his Ph.D. (Dr. Phil.) from the same university in 1992, where he also taught from 1988 to 1994. From 1992 to 1994, he served as the coordinator of the "International and Intercultural Department" at the Stuttgart Adult Education Center (vhs). He is a Professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education and Educational Design at the University of the Aegean, specializing in "History of Education with an emphasis on antiquity and the pedagogical value of Myths." He is the Director of the Master's Program "Models of Design and Development of Educational Units." His research interests include the History of Pedagogy, Education in the Dodecanese during the Italian occupation, Non-Verbal Behavior, Media Pedagogy, the European Dimension in Education, Adult Education, and Intercultural Education. He is a board member of the Hellenic Educational Society (EL.E.I.E.) and a Scientific Advisor for the reputable German journal "ZfE."
