Nikos Savvatis

Nikos Savvatis has been publishing theoretical essays on cinema and music since 1975 (in the magazine "Contemporary Cinema"). In collaboration with the Thessaloniki Film Festival, he has curated collective volumes dedicated to directors or national cinemas (Nagisa Oshima, Ken Loach, Éric Rohmer, Fritz Lang, Abbas Kiarostami, Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Brazilian cinema, Mikio Naruse, Ousmane Sembène, etc.). He has also worked as a radio producer, screenwriter, and director of a feature film. From 1994 to 2001, he taught cinema at the Theatre Department of the University of Patras.
