Michalis K. Kontesis

He holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Athens, a Master of Sciences in Operations Research from the University of Southampton in England, and a Ph.D. with distinction in Economics (Business Research) from the Higher Industrial School of Thessaloniki (now University of Macedonia). He has also received further training in Statistics and Computer Programming. He has served as a specialist scientist and lecturer at the Higher Industrial School of Thessaloniki and the Technical University of Crete, where he taught Operational Research, Statistics, and Management Information Systems. Additionally, he has been the scientific director of research, study, and training programs focused on Operational Research and Applied Informatics, a member of organizing and scientific committees for both Greek and international conferences, vice president of the Research Committee of the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences, head of the Operational Informatics Group, which he proposed and co-founded, and a consultant for the Institute of Technological Education and the Institute of Continuing Education. He has authored works in the field of Applied Informatics and Multicriteria Decision Making. He currently holds the position of professor in the Operational Informatics Group at the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences.
