Marios Marselos

Marios Marselos received his medical degree from the University of Athens in 1971. He pursued postgraduate studies in Finland (1972-77), specializing in General Pharmacology and Toxicology. In 1979, he was appointed as a full professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Medical School of Ioannina, where he continues to teach. He has served as Deputy Dean of the Medical School and Vice-Rector of the University of Ioannina, Greece's national representative to the European Medicines Agency, a member of the Ministry of Health's Narcotics Committee, a member of the Research Committee of OKANA, and President of the National Organization for Medicines. He has numerous publications in international scientific journals and has been invited to author chapters in academic textbooks both domestically and internationally. His main research interests include the study of various substances of abuse, such as ethyl alcohol, nicotine, and cannabis. Many of his early works on the epidemiology of "drug" use among young people are considered reference points in Greek and international literature.
