Giorgos Simiriotis

Georgios Simiriotis (1878-1964). Georgios Simiriotis, brother of Angelos Simiriotis, was born in Adramyttium, Asia Minor, but grew up in Mytilene, where he spent his school years and completed his secondary education. He then moved to Athens, where he lived from 1898 to 1906, and traveled to Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA. He returned to Athens in 1916, published texts in literary magazines, co-published the magazine "Salon" with his brother Kostas in 1924, and engaged in theater. After a brief stay in Smyrna before 1922, he returned to Athens, where he spent the rest of his life. He served as the Director of the Theatrical Student Club and as an Advisor to the Union of Greek Writers. He made his literary debut in 1902 with the publication of the poetry collection "Songs" and also worked in prose and literary translation.
