Quino

Joaquín Salvador Lavado is globally known as Quino, the creator of the comic strip featuring little Mafalda. He was born in the city of Fuengirola, Spain, on July 17, 1932, but his family emigrated to Argentina at the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Mendoza, Argentina. He first drew Mafalda in 1964 for an Argentine newspaper, and it immediately became a great success. He passed away on September 30, 2020, at the age of 88.
