Manolis Xexakis

Manolis Xexakis was born in 1948 in Rethymno, Crete. In 1966, he moved to Thessaloniki, where he currently resides. He studied mathematics at the University of Thessaloniki and worked successively as a tutor, the director of radio broadcasting for ERT-2 Thessaloniki (1983-1986), and as an associate at an advertising company. From 1982 to 1987, he hosted the radio program "The World of Books" on ERT-2. He made his literary debut in 1971 and was a close collaborator of the magazine "To Tram." He has published several books, including "The Death of the Cavalry" (short stories, 1977), "Mathematical Exercises" (poems, 1980), "Erotic Voyages" (poems, 1980), "Mirrors of Melancholic Speech" (poems, 1987), "Where the Cuckoo, Where the Wind" (novel, 1987), "Sonata of Worry Beads" (short stories and short prose, 2000), among others. His short stories have been translated into German and English.
