Eliphas Levi

Alphonse Louis Constant was born in France in 1810. He adopted the pseudonym Eliphas Levi after his second "birth," when he was initiated into the Mysteries of the Kabbalah. He strived more than any other esotericist to reconcile Religion with Science and Faith with Reason. He deeply studied the rarest documents of Magic, Alchemy, and Astrology. He revealed transcendent truths that were taught only in the Great Mysteries of ancient Temples. At the end of his life, he declared that despite his knowledge, he never encountered a sweeter and more enlightening book than the Gospel of Jesus. "The Vision of Ezekiel" is the culmination of the sacred marriage between Esotericism and Christian Religion, which only such a High Spirit as his could render. He passed away, filled with illumination and spiritual serenity, to brighter worlds in 1875.
