Shel Silverstein

Sheldon Allan Silverstein (1930-1999) was born and raised in Chicago, USA. He was involved in writing, poetry, cartooning, music composition, and theater. He is widely known for the illustrated stories he created, such as The Giving Tree, Where the Sidewalk Ends, The Missing Piece Meets the Big O, Who Wants a Cheap Rhinoceros?, and A Light in the Attic. His works have been translated into more than 47 languages and have sold over twenty million copies worldwide.
