Vasilis Kiosses
Dr. Vasilis Kiosses is a psychologist-psychotherapist and a graduate of the Department of Psychology at the University of Crete. He completed his training in Person-Centered Counseling and Psychotherapy and holds a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina. During his doctoral studies, he created "Walk in My Shoes, Doctor!", an innovative experiential training program for doctors and healthcare professionals in empathy. This training later became an elective course at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina and received multiple distinctions, the most notable being in 2019 in the USA, where it won the Global Innovation Award in Person-Centered Medicine. In 2022, he was again among the top three worldwide with a training application for doctors in empathy using virtual reality. He has worked in social services, spending several years working with women who are victims of abuse. He has taught in postgraduate programs at various medical schools as well as at psychotherapy schools. He has published in international scientific journals, delivered three TEDx talks, and given hundreds of presentations at national and international conferences. Today, he works privately as a psychotherapist while also training healthcare professionals in empathy.
