Leonardo Benevolo

Leonardo Benevolo (1923-2017) was an architect, urban planner, and architectural historian. He taught at the Universities of Rome, Florence, Venice, and Palermo. Specializing in the urban environment, he also worked on the redesign of several Italian cities. He was a prolific writer. One of his most significant works, "Storia dell’architettura moderna" (History of Modern Architecture), was published in more than 18 editions and translated into six languages. Other books by him include "Una introduzione all’architettura" (Introduction to Architecture), "Storia dell’architettura del Rinascimento" (History of Renaissance Architecture), "Storia della città" (History of the City), "Storia della città orientale" (History of the City in the East), and "La cattura dell’infinito" (The Capture of Infinity).
