
William Boyd
William Boyd was born in Ghana in 1952 and studied at the universities of Nice, Glasgow, and Oxford. He is married and lives in Chelsea (in West London), just a few meters away from the "home of James Bond," and occasionally visits his second home in southwestern France. His literary work includes fourteen novels, three collections of short stories, and an essay. Boyd has been honored with the Whitbread Award, the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, the James Tait Black Memorial Prize, the Jean Monnet Prize, and the Somerset Maugham Award. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a member of the Order of Arts and Letters.
