Vasilis Anagnostou

Vasilis Anagnostou was born in Skoutaros, Lesvos, but spent his childhood and youth in Nea Erythraia. He studied at the Electronics School of the Sivitanidios Foundation, the School of Civil Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and the Advanced Theoretical School of the National Conservatory and the "N. Skalkottas" Conservatory. For the past twenty years, he has lived in Mytilene, where he works in Public Education and also teaches music education in seminars. His first literary attempt was in 1988 with the short story collection "Stories for the Wild" (Odysseas Publications). This was followed by "The Good Song Seeks Its Justice: 24 Songs" (published by the Aeolian Studies Company, 1991), "Even a Mistake, Do It Right" (Ankyra, 1997), "With the Stars in the Castles of Music" (Domos, 2001), and "And Suddenly Someone Said: Let's Play Theater" (Ankyra, 2006). His lyrics, set to music by Takis Vouhis, are included in the LP "How Nice It Would Be" (Lyra, 1991) and the CD "Standing on Two Boats" (DIODIM, 1995). In mid-December 2007, the CD "Theseus Returning" (music by Takis Vouhis) was released by Polytropon, featuring three songs with his lyrics, performed by Manolis Mitsias, Emilia Ottaviano, and the composer.
