Giota Argyropoulou

Giota Argyropoulou (1960-2018) was born in Konstantinoi, Messinia, and lived in Kalamata. She studied philology in Athens and worked in secondary education at the Music School. She published the poetry collections "Spring Mural" (1998, 2nd ed. 2006), "Inconsolable Waters" (2004), "Short Stories" (2010, Giorgos Athanas Award from the Academy of Athens), "Of Poets and All Saints" (2013, shortlisted for the State Awards), and "For Sikinos, Anafi, Amorgos" (2017). Her poems have been translated into Spanish, German, and Hungarian. She passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2018, at the age of 57.
