Edmund Husserl

Edmund Husserl was born in Prossnitz, Moravia, in 1859 and died in Freiburg in 1938. He studied philosophy and mathematics in Leipzig and Berlin and completed his habilitation in Halle in 1887, where he taught until 1901. From 1901 to 1916, he taught in Göttingen and then in Freiburg. His major works include "Philosophie der Arithmetik" (1891), "Logische Untersuchungen I-II" (1900-1), "Philosophie als strenge Wissenschaft" (1910-1), "Ideen zu einer reinen Phänomenologie und phänomenologischen Philosophie" (1913), "Formale und transzendentale Logik" (1929), "Meditations cartésiennes" (1932), among others.
