Katerina Siaµpani

Katerina Siampani was born and raised in Veria, Imathia. She moved to Thessaloniki for her studies in psychology and has remained there ever since. After completing her studies, she worked for YWCA Thessaloniki and YWCA Greece at the Kalamaria branch as a professional staff member, organizing and coordinating groups for teenage and adult women, as well as counseling groups for parents with preschool, school-age, and adolescent children. Concurrently, she worked at the Secretariat of the Coordinating Council of the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace on blood donation for children with thalassemia. In 1999-2000, she discovered Gestalt therapy and began her training at the Gestalt Foundation in Thessaloniki. She also pursued a master's degree in Counseling Psychology. She trained in Art Therapy, integrating her love for art into psychotherapy. She volunteered with the Cancer Patients Association of Macedonia-Thrace, providing psychological support to individuals suffering from various forms of cancer. Since 2002-2003, she has been working with the Greek Association of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, initially as a volunteer and later professionally, coordinating psychological support groups for caregivers, psychotherapy groups for individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment, and Art Therapy groups for people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. In 2007, she began her private practice, "The Key," where she delivers lectures, organizes self-awareness and personal development groups, and conducts experiential and educational workshops both at her practice and for organizations and municipalities. She writes articles for magazines on psychotherapy and human relationships. In 2014, her first book, "Walking Together: Gestalt Therapy in Dementia," was published. Her interests include painting, literature, poetry, politics, music, and theater.
