Manuel Vilas

Manuel Vilas is a highly acclaimed poet and novelist. Born in 1962 in Barbastro, Spain, he splits his time between Madrid and Iowa City, USA. He has published seven novels, along with numerous poetry collections and essays. "Ordesa," released in Spain in 2018, became an absolute bestseller, was voted one of the best books of the year, and established Vilas as one of the most important contemporary Spanish authors, on par with Javier Cercas and Antonio Muñoz Molina. In 2019, he was awarded the Femina Étranger Prize. The book is already being translated into more than 15 languages.
