Korina Mayraki
Corina Mavraki was born in Sweden and grew up in Thessaloniki. She studied to become a teacher at the Department of Primary Education at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and continues to teach in elementary schools. She is married and has a son. Her strong sense of justice and the purity of character that distinguishes her led her to engage in union activities in her workplace. From a young age, she would escape reality by filling her drawers with fairy tales, plays, poems, and stories. She considers authors to be small gods who determine the fates—at least—of their characters, and writing to be the temple of the soul where desires and repressed emotions coexist. The Creative Writing Workshop of Chara Andreidou was the springboard that brought her closer to realizing her literary pursuits, and with the short story "Dinner with Fennel and Deception," she enters the wonderful world of writing.
