Elizabeth Jane Howard

Elizabeth Jane Howard was born in London in 1923. She led a vibrant life, both creatively and emotionally, and often found herself in the public eye. She was married three times and had one daughter, four grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She spent the last 25 years of her life writing at a beautiful estate in Suffolk, where she passed away in 2014. Although she was a prolific writer, she admitted that writing was one of the most "terrifying" things she did because it filled her with anxiety. In Britain, she is considered as much a classic as Jane Austen.
