Katerina Papapostolou

Katerina Papapostolou was born in Alexandria, Imathia. She studied at the Faculty of Education at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and during her studies, she attended numerous art and theater workshops, as well as many seminars on theatrical play in education and environmental topics. She has participated in university programs on intercultural education and completed her thesis on attention deficit disorder. In Chania, she attended a private School of Fine Arts and took part in several puppet and theater doll exhibitions. It was during this time that she initiated her first educational environmental programs in her classroom focused on animal welfare, which she continues to this day. She has successfully developed an educational program featuring the almost daily presence of a dog in the classroom and has written and directed a children's theater play where the main character was a dog! Since 2008, she has been working as a teacher at the Platanos-Prasinada Primary School in the Imathia region. She writes for various online sites and is the author of "To Doro," "To Doro tis Dionis," and "The Great Return," published by Welldone. She specializes in Special Education, has trained as a dog trainer, and is currently studying Animal-Assisted Therapy at the French Institute of Animal-Assisted Therapy in France. Dionis, who "wrote" "To Doro," is certified by the same Institute as an educational mediation dog. She is the founder of the group Zo.E.S. (Animal Welfare Education in Schools), where, along with her 100 volunteers and three specially trained dogs, she implements animal welfare educational programs approved by the Ministry of Education in schools across the country. She speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
