CHristos Vergados

Christos Vergados was born and raised in Sparta. His family has run a pastry shop in the area for many years, where he also works, so it was natural for him to develop a passion for pastry-making. He studied at a private school for two years, during which he excelled in several competitions. He continued his studies in France at the E.N.S.P (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Pâtisserie), under the guidance of two top pastry chefs, Y. Thuries and A. Ducasse. He then attended seminars in Greece and abroad on sugar, caramel, chocolate techniques, wedding cakes, and more. Utilizing his expertise in these techniques, he gradually began creating his first pieces of artistic pastry. In February 2009, he presented "Sweet Fashion by C. Vergados" at the ARTOZA bakery and pastry exhibition, the first complete fashion show featuring clothes and accessories made from pastry materials. This was followed by "Sweet Fashion 2 by C. Vergados" in February 2011, which gained attention through its coverage on numerous television shows. Notably, his work was also showcased on the French state channel TF2. He then collaborated on presenting dessert recipes on popular TV shows and worked with the gastronomy magazine of the newspaper Ethnos. He participated as a speaker at the two-day symposium "The Philosophy of Food in Society through the Arts," focusing on artistic pastry, receiving excellent reviews. In 2012, he became the pastry chef at the Michelin-starred restaurant of Francois Gagnaire in southern France. In 2013, "Sweet Fashion by C. Vergados" traveled to Montreal, Canada, once again impressing audiences. He is a pastry chef and creator of dessert menus at top restaurants in Greece and abroad, and a pastry technical consultant for a major fast-food company. Understanding the importance of proper training, he decided to pass on his knowledge to students, and for the past thirteen years, he has been teaching pastry-making at IEK AKMI.
