Dr. Georgios Chrysochou graduated from the Hellenic Naval Academy, pursuing a career as an Officer in the Navy. He holds a Master's degree in International Relations and Strategic Security Studies, focusing on International Arms Control Law, from Cranfield University in the UK. He completed his doctoral dissertation in the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport at the University of the Aegean, specializing in Geopolitics and the Law of the Sea, where he received unanimous distinction. He is also a graduate of the Naval War College with honors and was recognized as the top graduate, additionally certified in European Security and Defense matters by the High Representative for Security and Defense of the EU. Currently, he serves as the Head of International Law at the Hellenic Navy General Staff and has been a faculty member at the Hellenic Naval Academy in the Department of Shipping and Marine Sciences since 2009. His teaching focuses on Marine Sciences and International Maritime Law, and he is a regular faculty member at Military Academies and Schools of the Armed Forces in these subjects. He has authored numerous scientific works published in Greece and abroad, including "The Aegean Dispute in the Context of Contemporary Judicial Decisions on Maritime Delimitation," Laws Journal, Vol 3, no.1, Basel, Switzerland, 2014, co-authored with Professor P. He is fluent in English and French. He is married and has two children.
