Athanasios Karasimos

Athanasios Karasimos graduated from the Department of Philology at the University of Patras, specializing in Linguistics. He subsequently studied Computational Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh. In 2011, he completed his doctoral dissertation titled "Computational Processing of Allomorphy in Modern Greek Word Formation." This work focuses on Greek Morphology and contemporary natural language processing techniques from the field of Computational Linguistics. He has worked on research projects in Greek Dialectology at the Laboratory for the Study of Modern Greek Dialects, edited conference proceedings, and served as a technical coordinator in research activities. He is also a member of the adjunct faculty in the Master's program in English Language at the Hellenic Open University. He participates in various research innovations at the Academy of Athens and is a member of the DARIAH-GR/DYAS team. His interests are centered on Computational Linguistics, Terminology and Neologisms, Language Data Bases, and Digital Humanities.
