
Stelios P. CHatzipanagiotou
Stelios Chatzipanagiotou is a Medical Biopathologist - Clinical Microbiologist and an Associate Professor of Microbiology at the Medical School of Athens. He was born in Athens, graduated from the six-year Gymnasium of the German School of Athens, and studied Medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He worked for five years as a salaried scientific collaborator at the Universities of Gottingen and Wurzburg in Germany, where he earned his doctorate from the Medical School of the University of Gottingen and specialized in Laboratory Medicine (Biopathology). Upon returning to Greece, he worked for about 10 years in the National Health System (NHS) and the private sector. Since 1999, he has been serving as a member of the Teaching and Research Staff at the Medical School of Athens in the Microbiology Laboratory of Aeginiteio Hospital.
