Stayros Parcharidis

Stavros Parcharidis was born in 1966 in Backnang, Germany. He lived there until he was ten years old before returning to Greece. He studied journalism and acting. He directs for both theater and film. He has directed two short films: "POREIA" (awarded the "Kinisi" prize at the Drama Short Film Festival, participated in the Istanbul Film Panorama, featured in the Greek Film Noir tribute at the Thessaloniki International Festival, and was nominated as the best Greek film by Kodak at the Cannes Festival) and "AGAPIMENI POLI" (participated in the Drama Short Film Festival, nominated for Best Actor, featured at the Athens Premiere Nights Festival, and the Larissa Short Film Festival), as well as documentaries. He has acted in feature films directed by Th. Angelopoulos, P. Voulgaris, Stam. Tsarouhas, P. Karkanevatos, N. Vezyrgiannis, and Zachos Samoladas. He writes scripts for cinema and television. He has written ten plays, songs, fairy tales, and a novel. He has directed theatrical works from both Greek and international repertoires. In recent years, his artistic activities have focused on the projects of the artistic-theatrical, non-profit urban company "MAIOTRON," where he serves as an actor and director, organizing numerous artistic events. He is also involved in photography, video, and visual arts, with his works having been exhibited abroad (Crypt Gallery, London, video installations).
