Rachel Joyce lives in Gloucestershire, UK. She has written more than twenty original plays for BBC Radio 4 and has adapted works for the "Classic Series" and "Woman's Hour" programs, as well as theatrical adaptations for BBC 2. In 2007, she won the Tinniswood Award for the best radio play. "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry" is her debut novel, which topped the Sunday Times bestseller list, was longlisted for the 2012 Man Booker Prize, shortlisted for the 2013 Commonwealth Book Prize, and won the Specsavers National Book Award for Best New Writer in 2012.
