Anna Fragoudaki

Anna Fragoudaki is a professor of sociology of education at the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Athens. She lived in France from 1964 to 1976, where she studied sociology and specialized in the sociology of education. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Rene Descartes - Paris V (1975, Department of Education Sciences) and is a habilitated lecturer at the University of Ioannina (1978, Faculty of Philosophy). She has led research projects focusing on the content of school textbooks, the ethnocentrism of the educational system, and social inequalities in education. Her main publications address social inequalities, gender and cultural discrimination, historical bilingualism and its social function, the analysis of school books, ethnocentrism, and racism in education.
