Alexandros Mperler
Alexandros Berler was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1969. He graduated as an electrical engineer from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1995. He holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Technology from the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program in Biomedical Technology (IPPBT) of the University of Patras and the National Technical University of Athens in 1997, and he earned a Ph.D. from the IPPBT in 2009, focusing on the interoperability of complex information systems in healthcare and the design of an integrated citizen-centered health information system. He worked as a scientific associate and researcher at the Biomedical Technology Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens from 1996, participating in numerous research projects. From 2002 to 2006, he served as a project director at Information Society S.A., overseeing the design and monitoring of major IT projects in healthcare. Currently, he is the director of the consulting services department at Gnomon Informatics S.A. He has been a member of IEEE since 1998, ACM since 1998, ESEM since 1998, HIMSS, and PMI since 2006. Additionally, he is a founding member of the HL7 Hellas Governing Committee since 2003.
