Description

On the eve of World War II in 1937, Sophie Blake falls in love with Amias Troy from the moment she sees him on a beach in Cornwall. However, he leaves her to fight alongside the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War. With a broken heart, Sophie is forced to face the consequences of their fleeting relationship alone and start a new life in London as the assistant to the famous journalist Charlie Bradford. Charlie stands by her side in the most difficult moments, while the shadow of war looms heavily over Europe.

When Amias reappears in her life, Sophie must decide whether to listen to her heart or choose the deep love that binds her to Charlie. At the same time, she will try to save whatever is left of her family from the terrifying consequences of war.
